Sunday School is held after Holy Qurbana and lunch each week. It starts with a general class for all students, during which they learn devotional hymns and songs. One of the Principals also gives an informative and inspirational message, usually pertaining to the importance of that Sunday. The students are then dismissed to individual classes corresponding to their grade levels, for which Sunday School teachers follow the standardized curriculum approved by the Sunday School Association of the East. Our Sunday School strives to live by the motto, “Faith, Discipline, Tradition.”

Faith
The Sunday School curriculum includes the teaching of Holy Scripture, the lives of the Saints, and the history of Christianity. This helps students to distinguish the Oriental Orthodox faith. Students participate in dialogue, critically thinking on the design of their faith.
Discipline
The Holy Sacraments of the Malankara Orthodox Church involve structure and order. Students learn four ideas that are especially repetitive in Orthodox worship:
1) Worship begins and ends with the affirmation of the Holy Trinity.
2) Worship is Christ-centered.
3) Worship includes the communion with saints on earth and in heaven (the fullness of the Church).
4) Worship presents our life on earth to the Triune God.
Tradition
The Sunday School is unified with that of the entire diocese. Traditionally, students in Grades V, VIII, X, and XII participate in centralized examinations. Our students never fail to impress us and the diocese with their study and achievements. Sunday School also provides students with opportunities to participate in talent competitions (which involve singing, verse recitation, storytelling, essay-writing, drawing, and elocution) that represent our Church in the local, district, and diocesan levels. The children at St. Peter’s & St. Paul’s are our most precious treasure; we pray we steward our Sunday School faithfully to the glory of His Kingdom.
